Bosphorus
A guided tour for two hours on the Istanbul strait Bosporus with a public transport ship. For three days GIDEONSSON/LONDRÉ boarded the ship, raised their flag symbolizing “I’m drifting” in maritime signal code, and performed a script as a guided tour. The script addressed issues such as offshore economics, romantic painting, artificial islands etc. in relation to the discourse of the freedom of the sea.
In relation to the performance a publication were distributed mimicking a regular tourist brochure, which illustrated different events on water in relation to the performed script. The script was also made into a newspaper: A Tour of the High Sea - DV I’M DRIFTING. A publication mass distributed with content adaptable to all waters whatsoever.
