The walk is based on the differnet stages of the mire - the ground frost, the thaw, the wetness and the freeze - and will be repeated at four times. Two wooden structures is placed on the opposite sides of the mire, Gunders Mosse, containing fifteen pairs of ”peat soles”, resting on the different shelves.
The participant is given a pair of soles, which is strapped to the person feet and used to cross the mire. This is repeated until all the soles is returned to the wooden structure on the other side, and is placed their until the next walk. In the structure the soles will be exposed to all the changes happening on the mire. They consist of the same material as the mire, but in a harvested state, taken from the ground.
